For Customers residing outside of Germany the following applies:
To verify your account we require you to upload a photo of your valid ID card or passport and a photo of a utility bill that is not older than 3 months.
Customers residing in Germany have the following options to fully verify their account:
A: 1 cent transfer
Step 1: If your information (e.g. IBAN) can be confirmed by SCHUFA, a 1-cent transfer will be automatically commissioned for you. If your specified IBAN could not be fully checked, you can enter and confirm a new one after clicking Verify now.
Step 2: Wait for our bank transfer (usually takes one bank working day) and write down the 1 cent PIN (four digits). You can find it in the purpose of our transfer.
Step 3: Go to the verification page, click the Verify now button, enter the four-digit 1-cent PIN in the input field and click send. After successful verification, your account will be fully activated. After refreshing the page (or logging out and in) you can use our offer again without restrictions.
B: Giropay ID
Step 1: Click the Giropay ID button and enter your IBAN in the input field.
Step 2: Log in to your bank and confirm your identity information by entering your TAN.
Step 3 (optional): Click on the ID card recognition button, upload the front and back of your ID card (identity card or passport). Note: This query only appears if the registration information could not be checked successfully.
Step 4: After successful verification, your account will be fully activated.
The following banks support Giropay ID: Postbank, various savings banks and PSD banks, Deutsche Kreditbank, Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken, GLS Gemeinbank, Comdirect Bank, Merkur Privatbank, MLP AG, Cronbank, Bankhaus Ellwanger & Geiger, Bankhaus Bauer and CVW Privatbank.
C: ID card and face recognition (Video Ident)
Step 1: Click on the ID card recognition button, upload the front and back of your ID card and start the automatic video verification.
Step 2: Follow the instructions (e.g. different facial expressions) of the program. The video verification is complete once all 5 points in the program have the status OK.
Step 3: After successful verification, your account will be fully activated.
ID verification
This option appears if the address check of your registration data or verification via automatic face recognition failed. Simply upload your ID documents, wait for the manual verification and then complete your verification.
